Coventry Does Strictly 2021 an event for mental health:

Breaking News – Registrations have opened for next year’s Coventry Does Strictly 2022, a charity event that is organised and delivered by Dancing Feet, Coventry. They will again be supporting Coventry and Warwickshire Mind, so could you be the next Fred Astaire or Ginger Rogers? Then get in touch!

We are extremely proud to announce that a glitterball spinning £20,000 was raised by Dancing Feet, Coventry, with both members of the public and their dance partners raising money for Coventry and Warwickshire Mind. The funds raised will go towards supporting the mental health charity’s free to access local mental health services, providing a specialised outreach bus to those in harder to reach areas. 

Dancing Feet, Coventry is back with a mission to raise even more funds for the Coventry and Warwickshire based charity, through Coventry Does Strictly 2022. The charity, last year helped more than 38,000 people, a record number its 50-year history. 

Mark Jefferies, owner of Dancing Feet, Coventry, organises, produces and choreographs the event, which will be staged next year on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 October 2022. Working with Mark and dancers from from Dancing Feet, Coventry, the charity was amazed at his commitment, dedication and energy that has no bounds. We are delighted that Mark has kindly offered to support the charity for a third year running, and an event of this magnitude, with the support of the charity and the general public, will raise much needed funds to further break barriers down of mental health, ensuring that no one should have to face a mental health problem alone. 

Mark Jefferies, owner of Dancing Feet, Coventry said: ‘Dancing Feet, Coventry has been delivering the charity event, Coventry Does Strictly, for over 10yrs and this is the second year that we have supported Coventry and Warwickshire Mind, and we are very pleased to raised such a large amount of money, the contestants and dancers worked very hard to produce a fantastic weekend of dancing after only 8 weeks of training’.

Steven Hill, the CEO of Coventry and Warwickshire Mind said: “It was pleasure to be work with Dancing Feet, Coventry on Coventry Does Strictly 2021. Especially, after such a trying time with the impact of the pandemic. An event of this stature was very much needed to lift spirits and provide outstanding entertainment. We were impressed by the standard of the performances and overwhelmed by the fundraising total over the two days. This money will make an amazing difference to many people here in Coventry and Warwickshire

This year’s event, held on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 October 2021, had nineteen dancing couples, who took to the dancefloor for two glitzy evening performances at The Double Tree by Hilton Hotel, Walsgrave, Coventry, keeping audiences entertained with their fancy footwork and lots of dancing. Coventry and Warwickshire Mind and Dancing Feet, Coventry call on any budding dancers, to get involved in Coventry Does Strictly 2022, it’s a great way to get active, meet new people and enhance mental wellbeing.
